Last night, my buddy Rochelle invited me to a concert featuring Hollywood Holt, Chester French, and Lady Sovereign.

It began with Hollywood Holt opening the show up. He brought in his Chicago flavor and uptempo charisma and even had Fake Donald Trump’s hands in the air like he didn’t care. The show was held in a basement church, but Holt seemed to have total disregard while causing a havoc.

Chester French literally shut it down. I might be shun for the comparison to The Beatles or even The Wonders, but the sound is definitely something I can’t even pinpoint in my iTunes library. While capturing the sound of a past era, they seem to find a way to keep everything relevant to pop culture as well as keeping it funky in their performance. After every act I see, I happen to put them in my top 5 performances of all time. I think I might stick with it this time and if I go back on my word, feel free to never buy our products.

The main and final act happened to be Lady Sovereign, but the few technical difficulties brought her to an abrupt state of mind causing her to throw the mic and storm off stage. Even though she continued the show, the attitude wasn’t my selective taste, so I opted after the first track. Oh snap…no picture?

PS – You ain’t neva lie!
